Google Docs & Spreadsheets

Google Docs & Spreadsheets is a Web 2.0 technology that is very useful to both the public and teachers. This technology allows you to post Excel and Word documents on the web for anyone to view. Every tool provided in Excel and Word are also available in Google. Many people use these Google spreadsheets as list makers. Anyone is able to open an account and create a document in Google.

There are many features of this technology. When using a Google spreadsheet, you can search on the web within that spreadsheet. Another feature is color-coded live comments. This makes the spreadsheet and documents interactive. Anyone is allowed to view and edit these documents. This could relate to writing in the classroom through the use of peer editing.

I found that Google Docs & Spreadsheets is great, but it is far more limited than Word and Excel. I needed to make a complex table, and I found that it was not possible to do what I wanted in Google Docs. However, I was able to do it in Word and import it into Google Docs.
